Cookie Policy

1. No cookies

The Site's code does not create, read or store cookies: no functional, analytics, advertising or third-party cookies. It also loads nothing from other companies that could set them. No analytics, advertising, social media or embedded content is used.

That statement covers the Site's own code, which is what we control. If our hosting provider, or network infrastructure between you and the Site, ever set a technical cookie of its own at the server level, that would happen outside the Site's code and not on our behalf. If we learn of such a cookie, we will update this policy to describe it.

2. The one thing we store

Browsers offer "local storage", a small space where a website can keep a note on your device. It is not a cookie, but the law treats it in a similar way, so this policy covers it too. The Site uses it for one thing only:

• Name: theme
• Value: light or dark
• Purpose: remembers the choice you made with the Dark mode switch, so every page opens in that mode.
• When it's set: only when you press the Dark mode switch.
• How long it lasts: until you clear your browser's data for the Site.
• Who can read it: only the Site's pages, in your browser. It is never sent to our server.

The 3D dojo stores nothing. Sound, speed, camera and kick settings, and anything that happens in Play mode, reset every time you load the page.

The Site writes nothing to session storage, IndexedDB or Cache Storage, registers no service worker and keeps no offline copy of itself. It has no app. If you add it to your home screen with your browser's own command, that shortcut simply opens the Site over the network. Like any website, your browser may keep the Site's public files in its ordinary cache so that pages load faster. Those files are the same for everyone and hold nothing about you.

3. Why there's no cookie banner

Under Article 5(3) of the EU ePrivacy Directive, and regulation 6 of the UK's Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), a website must ask for your consent before it stores information on your device, unless that storage is strictly necessary to provide a service you have asked for. The theme note falls within that exception. It is written only when you press the Dark mode switch, it holds only the choice you made, and its only job is to give you that choice on the next page.

The Site stores nothing until you ask it to remember a setting, and the only thing it remembers is that setting. Nothing is used to identify or follow you, so there's nothing to consent to and no banner to click away.

4. Third parties and our hosting provider

The Site loads no fonts, scripts, images or other files from other companies, and it has no embedded videos, maps or social media buttons. Text uses the fonts already on your device.

The only company involved in serving the Site is our hosting provider, hosting.com. It delivers the Site's files and keeps the technical server logs described in the Privacy Policy. The Site's code sets no cookie in that process, and the theme note is never sent with a request. Section 1 explains what happens if the hosting infrastructure ever sets a cookie of its own.

5. How to remove it

You can delete the saved theme at any time. Clear your browser's cookies and site data for martialartsrobots.com, which in most browsers is under Settings, then Privacy, then Site data. Private or incognito windows forget it when you close them. If you'd rather not store anything at all, simply don't use the Dark mode switch. The Site will then open in light mode.

If your browser blocks local storage, the Site still works. The Dark mode switch then changes only the page you're on, and the next page opens in light mode again.

6. Changes

If we ever start using cookies, or storing anything else on your device, we will update this policy and the date at the top before we do. Where the law requires it, we will ask for your consent before anything new is stored.
